September Reflection

Happy Autumn to all!  The rain has come and thank you parents for supplying your children with wonderful rain gear and cozy change of clothes--they are having a blast singing and dancing in the rain and have been spending 45 minutes in their outdoor class.
A quote I feel sums up many of our teacher/parent observations of these amazing children:

"Everything in the environment is of interest to him--even the smallest and most insignificant objects--things one would imagine too small to catch his attention.  A piece of wood that floats on the water, a pebble, a shell, an empty tin, or a tin with a stone in it; a piece of coal...Whatever he can grasp in his tiny hands he tries to grasp with his mind!  It all comes as grist to the mill."
Dr. Maria Montessori, "Her Life and Work" 1957.
