Klahanie School
June 2017 Newsletter
Whether we're a preschooler or a
young teen, a graduating college senior or a retired person, we human beings
all want to know that we're accepted, that our being alive somehow makes a difference
in the lives of others.
There are three ways to ultimate
success:
The first way is to be kind.
The second way is to be kind.
The third way is to be kind.
2016-2017 Reflection
What a delightful school year full of so much laughter and
connection, this has been a significant year and so much fun! Thank you to all of your families
for being a huge part of that.
Thank you Teacher Jordan Beck-Vroom for your amazing patience, knowledge,
intuition and deep love and kindness to all the children you work with and
offering such support and teamwork to the school community!
And thank you to our talented Specialists Jordan Beck-Vroom
(Spanish and textile arts) and Elizabeth Shaw-Mendana for the movement
wonders. We were a lucky group of
people for sure!
Wishing you all a joyful summer and hopeful to run into many
of you during summer family adventures around our gorgeous island!
Borrowed words I love to share each year with children
venturing to other schools from Klahanie are the following:
Forever
Young
Song
and Lyrics by: Bob Dylan
May
God bless and keep you always,
May
your wishes all come true,
May
you always do for others
And
let others do for you.
May
you build a ladder to the stars
And
climb on every rung,
May
you stay forever young,
Forever
young, forever young,
May
you stay forever young.
May
you grow up to be righteous,
May
you grow up to be true,
May
you always know the truth
And
see the lights surrounding you.
May
you always be courageous,
Stand
upright and be strong,
May
you stay forever young,
Forever
young, forever young,
May
you stay forever young.
May
your hands always be busy,
May
your feet always be swift,
May
you have a strong foundation
When
the winds of changes shift.
May
your heart always be joyful,
May
your song always be sung,
May
you stay forever young,
Forever
young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
Mahalo, Muchas Gracias, Merci beaucoup to such a loving,
lovely, dynamic and deeply kind group of children I will miss dearly and look
forward to the honored opportunity of witnessing their continued growth in self
and community.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Klahanie
School families for such a wonderful school year and to leave you with one of
my favorite poets:
Perhaps
travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry,
laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and
understand each other, we may even become friends.
