Reflections On a Scottish Christmas

November 2015 Reflection
A beautiful month shared with your children celebrating
family and friendship. Older
children dove into all sorts of extended projects and the younger children
many-times stopped for long pauses to watch, ask questions and seek lessons
themselves. We also had some
wonderful fieldtrips to KVI beach, some neighborhood walks and making an
amazing meal and eating it together in celebration of togetherness and thanks
to the earth.

celebration and study of Diwali
(or Deepavali, the "festival of lights") is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn (northern hemisphere) or spring
(southern hemisphere) every year. Diwali is one of the largest and brightest festivals
in India. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over
darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Its celebration includes millions of
lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and
other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed.
